John 10:10 – I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Lord Jesus, you are such a good shepherd. The more I ponder it, the more I see and find freedom under your staff. You come to me and didn’t even consider what you might get out of me. You came only to give. You don’t want to use and abuse me. You come to hold me, help me, care for me. What’s even more amazing is that you do all this good for me despite the sinful and shameful way that I’ve treated you. Yet, still you come in to lead me out. You still are standing guard against all who would harm me. You open the gate so I can freely come to you. This is the way to live! You take nothing from me but give everything to me. O Jesus, it’s good to be a sheep. It is the best life. Amen.
