“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. “ Acts 4:32-35

Dear Jesus we long to experience the kind of community that you created in that early church. We want to share everything. We want to be one heart and mind as we do life together. We want to be close friends and have close friends. Often our own crazy thinking gets in the way. We do things that distance others without even realizing it. Help us overcome our spiritually odd selfishness and to be simple hearted, generous and sharing with one another. Give us the love you have that gives more freely than anyone else so that we learn to power of losing everything for others so that we might gain everything for all. Today is our gift to you help us see how we can use it to make you smile! AMEN
