Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9

Dear Jesus, right here in your word you tell me that I am my brother's keeper. You do not want me to get so lost in all of my troubles and aspirations that I cannot see the needs of others around me. Help me to speak up for those in need in all circumstances. Help me to be a peacemaker between others and one who networks for the benefit of my friends and acquaintances. Open my eyes to see what you see. When it hurts to look at the poverty around me, give me courage to overcome my wince, roll up my sleeves and relieve the pain if even in a small way. You healed people that you knew would suffer again. Help me to do the same. AMEN
