Roaring like a Lion

Luke 10:25-42, Numbers 23-25

Numbers 24:17 – I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; he shall crush the forehead of Moab and breakdown all the sons of Sheth.

Lord Jesus, you roar like a lion as you rise from your tomb and your might is clearly seen.  The earth shakes, guards run away in terror and womb fall to the ground in fear.  All the earth trembles at your roar and especially those who are not on your side. But, Lord Jesus, you gently speak to me, you call me by name and say, “dear child, don’t be afraid.  Come stand by my side.  I am for you, not against you.  I have conquered all and now I rule all for you!”  Lord Jesus, banish all fear and sadness from my heart.  No enemy can stand against me because you are for me. Fill my heart with hope-filled confidence because you rule.  No thing that you plan or do can ever fail.  Comfort me with your presence and the promise that all this work is never in vain because you, Lord Jesus, have risen from the dead and you roar like a lion.  It will never be for nothing.  Here we go, Lord Jesus.  We’re going to get after this day with a pounce and a roar.  Set me to work today with this confidence and boast.  You’re for me!  Amen.
