“When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. So, David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. David’s two wives had been captured-Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.” 1 Samuel 30: 3-6

Dear Lord, Let the song of my heart today be, “There is no one like our God.” It contains such a powerful truth for me to remember. It puts me in my place. When I am tempted to love or to trust things or people that are not gods and to rely on them for help, this song teaches me that there is no one else in this world worthy of my love or my trust. Anyone and anything in this world is unable to do what you can do or to give what you can give. When I am tempted to love or to trust other things, teach me to sing, “There is no one like our God.” When I am worried and concerned, when anxiety overwhelms my spirit, when I am distressed and troubled because of what is going on in my life, teach me to sing, “There is no one like our God.” There is none like you in heaven and earth. There is no one over you in heaven or on earth. There is no one like you, our God. Let the song of my heart today be, “There is no one like our God.” Amen.

The mighty Creator God who rules over all kingdoms of this earth is your God. The mighty, conquering King-God is who puts nations under his feet is your God. Find your strength in him. Against him none can stand.
