“For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” Romans 5:10-11
Lord God, The blessings just keep coming. The grace just keeps flowing. And, Lord, I need it. My sin and sinfulness show itself again this morning as my mind races and my heart shakes. My sin and sinfulness show itself again this morning as my mind races and my heart shakes. My sin and my sinfulness show itself in so many different ways in my heart and throughout my life. Here I see such undeserved grace and kindness that just keeps flowing to me. You reconciled me to yourself when I was your enemy! And not just that, but you saved me through the coming, through the life, of your Son. And not just that, but now I have a brand-new relationship with you. This changes everything. I no longer have to pursue peace with you; I already have it. I no longer have to pursue friendship with you; I already have it. Your grace and mercy overwhelm me this morning as I see gifts from your throne. And they keep coming. Continue to overwhelm me with your grace all day long that I might be a dispenser of your grace. Amen.
God piles up his gifts of grace in front of our eyes at Christmas so that we might be overwhelmed with the abundant outpouring of those gifts our entire lives.
