“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.  And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.  Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.  Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.  Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”  Colossians 4:2-6

Dear Jesus, I think it’s really cool that you have given me the opportunity to change the world with you by two simple practices: 1) talking to you for people and 2) talking to people for you.  I will do both today and tomorrow and the next day.  Thank you for reminding me that if I will speak truth seasoned with grace, then you will make it settle in human hearts to take root and grow over time.  Give me the wisdom and patience to remember that you convert people over time as much as in one instant, so I will faithfully participate in their journey back to you.  Amen.

Trust God enough to talk to him about people and to people about God.  He’ll take care of the rest.
