Dear Jesus, You had the greatest love to lay down your life for me. I am forever grateful. But you have also led American soldiers, both men and women, to express that love for all of us fellow Americans by laying down their lives for us. Today on Memorial Day, I am forever grateful for their ultimate sacrifice for my freedom and tranquility in the United States of America. Thank you for giving me this gift of grace, so undeserved. Today, bless families of American service people fallen in the line of duty for me. Give them peace and purpose to go forward without their loved ones in the same altruism that they exhibited for all of us.

Nothing establishes our value more than another person giving up their life for ours.
