After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” - Matthew 2:1-2

Dear Jesus, on this day, we remember the Magi who came from a faraway culture to worship you when they knew so very little about your person and work. Help me to remember that the resolution to all my problems is not in some secret knowledge or spiritual skill that I learn to master.  Instead, it is found in you, my God and Savior, who loves me more than anyone else does and who has mastered my life better than the same.

Additional Readings: 1 Corinthians 1:18-31, Colossians 2

To be a Christian is to willingly stop worshiping yourself and to actively worship Jesus Christ for who he is and what he does.
