1 Timothy 6:3-21, Song of Solomon 1-4
1 Timothy 6:6-7 – Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment for we brought nothing into this world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.
Lord, it’s easy to chase things besides you. It’s easy to find meaning, value and worth outside of you and your grace. Give me a contented heart because of the meaning, value, and worth that you pour into me. Of and in myself I have not value or meaning. But you value you me because of your love. You value me so much that you gave your Son for me and for the world. You assign such value to me and you also give meaning and purpose to my life. More than that, you satisfy me with spiritual riches now and, in the life to come, even more! Grant me contentment with what you give, Lord. Grant me contentment in who you declare me to be and what you’ve given me to enjoy. Amen.
