Encounters with Jesus

Encounters with Jesus - #5 - Extraordinary Call

God has called you to do great things for him.  Jesus calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things for him.  What if I told you that you were already doing those things?  Jesus took four ordinary disciples and called them to do extraordinary things.  In an instant, they dropped their nets, left everything behind to follow Jesus and to learn from him how to fish for people.  That’s pretty great!  These four, along with a bunch of other disciples, apostles, and Christians, had an impact across the world that brings the message of the Bible to people like us.  That’s world impacting!  God used these four ordinary men who were nothing special to do extraordinary things.  God has called you to do the same.  What if I told you that you were already doing those things? This Sunday we learn about the call of Jesus to follow and serve.  Mathew 4:18-19.

Encounters with Jesus - #4 - More than a Fan

A fan is an enthusiastic follower. We love our teams.  We love our food.  We love people in our lives.  We share that with our world.  But we have so much more to share; we have someone so much greater to cheer about and to share.  Let's not sit on the sidelines cheering for Jesus, let's get in the game and share him.  John 1:35-41.

Encounters with Jesus - #3 - Momentous Moments

We all have big-deal days and milestone moments in our life.  Jesus' baptism is one of those days in his life.  By God's grace, his baptism is also a huge day in our life too.  Matthew 3:13-17

Encounters with Jesus - #2 - No Distance too Far

Nothing was going to keep the Wise Men from worshiping Jesus.  What is holding you back? This week we learn from Matthew 2:1-12 and are set free to worship like no one is watching and sing like no one is listening. I want you to be that guy singing when no one is listening.  I want you to be that gal that dances as if no one is watching.  Live like that in worship of Jesus!

Encountering Jesus - #1 - In his Word

This Sunday, we're going to start a brand new series doing just that.  We are going to meet Jesus in his Word.  And we'll never be the same!  The shepherds saw him and returned glorifying and praising God for what they had seen.  Mary treasured up these things and pondered them in her heart.  Simeon was ready to depart in peace.  Anna sang songs and told everyone about him.  The disciples left their nets to follow him.  When people met Jesus and encountered him, their lives changed.  So will ours.
