This was going to be a sermon about budgets and money management - God's way. But God's Word has a way of guiding our thoughts in a different path. And so this will not be a sermon about budgets. This is not a sermon about money. This is a sermon about vocation. This is a sermon about our callings. This is a sermon about how God does his work in the world. And wonder of wonders, he let's us be a part of it! Listen in and marvel with us.
Each generation has the important job of passing down the legacy of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus to the next. Each generation has the important job of passing on this legacy to the people of that current generation. Each and every generation has great work to do. And God has given each one of us the resources to do exactly what he wants us to do in our lives. In this short series, we’ll look briefly at how we can use what God has given us in our callings as members of a church, as members of our families, and as members of a community. God lets each generation play a vital role in how God does his work in this world.
2017 has been a tough year for the members of Abiding Faith. We don’t know exactly what God will give us in 2018, but we’re going to ride the wave. We’re going to plan some things and as God grants it to us we’ll do them. We’re going to be consistent in what we do. And we’ll ride the wave. We’ll enjoy the time that we have together. We’ll learn to trust him more. We’ll learn to live in the moment and make the most of every opportunity. We’ll learn to enjoy the work that God has given us to do. And we’ll pray desperately that God would bless his church how and when he will. And we know that it will be good. In this we’ll ride the wave of his grace whatever that waves looks like. We’ll learn to wait on him as watchman wait for the morning.
