“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  John 1:14

Dear Jesus, How simple and yet how profound are these words written by your aging apostle!  You have always been the Word who was with God and who is God.  You were involved in the creation of the world.  You made me and all creatures.  Then, you became one of us, to redeem us from our devastating mistakes.  You are full of power, grace and truth.  As my creator today, accept my life as a “thank offering” to you.  As my redeemer, accept my grace towards others as my way of honoring your sacrifice for me.  As my teacher, accept my willingness to obey your command to believe in your word as objective truth.  You are God.  You are my God.  You are my God and I love you for how you made me and then saved me.  Amen.

We are Jesus’ invention and he takes care of that which is his.
